Holder’s Comments Draw More Fire

We already knew Holder’s ban was a non-starter but last week we received more preemptive news against talks of a ban.
From NRA-ILA
Sixty-five House Democrats said Wednesday that they would oppose any attempt by the Obama administration to revive a ban on military-style weapons that President Bill Clinton signed into law in 1994 and President George [...]

Why have one marriage ammendment when you can have three?

This week I wrote about Minnesota’s own marriage ammendment only to realize we don’t have only 1 bill in the house for this ammendment, we have 3!
H.F. 1871 (Drazkowski) Marriage between a man and a woman is the only domestic legal union that shall be valid or recognized in Minnesota, and constitutional amendment proposed.
H.F.1870 (Dettmer) [...]

Paymar Caught Misleading Public On HF953

Earlier this week I rebutted Rep. Paymar’s letter regarding HF953 “Gun Registration Bill”
In his letter he clearly states:
HF 953 DOES help law enforcement.  The Minnesota Chiefs of Police Association supports this bill as do individual law enforcement agencies.
The emphasis is mine but the words are Paymar’s.  Yesterday after looking into the claim that the MNCPA [...]

What was missing from the town hall hearings

Thanks to Kevin at Eckernet for bringing this to my attention.  I already posted my thoughts on the pseudo listening session.   If the hearings weren’t only for special interests looking for funding, these are the actual taxpayers we would have heard from.

Nearly two months into the legislative session, House and Senate Republican leaders slammed their DFL colleagues for not proposing a solution to the state’s projected $4.8 billion budget deficit.

Size of Government vs Ability to Pay?

As I sat through the Town Hall Hearing last week and listened to the legislatures explain the state budget deficit, one slide in the presentation really jumped out at me.  After showing slides on how the state government has nearly doubled in size in 10 years, they present a slide titled “Price of Government State [...]
