I found this in a recent lwvm newsletter.
HF953: This legislation would close loopholes in existing firearm background check requirements. Current background checks before purchase of a firearm are required only on sales conducted by federally-licensed dealers, exempting sales at gun shows, over the internet, and in private transfers. The bill has been introduced in the House, sponsored by Rep. Michael Paymar (DFL-64B-Saint Paul),1 and referred to the House Public Safety Policy and Oversight Committee.
How is eliminating rights granted under the second ammendment eliminating a loophole? Perhaps we should eliminate a loophole in the 1st amendment by proposing legislation requiring content checks before LWVMN can send out mis-informed newsletters.
