Interesting Conversation with Common Folk Yesterday

While picking up my 6-year-old from a friend’s house yesterday evening, I got into a conversation with the other child’s Dad.  He brought up how his mom is becoming more and more concerned about Obama and where this country is heading.  I simply nodded my head and continued to listen.  He then told me that his mom has been buying firearms.  She told him that she feels safer with them and she is concerned that she won’t be able to buy them in the near future.  From his comments I got the feeling she had never owned a firearm before.

He went on to say that he told her she didn’t have to worry about the types of guns she bought.  He said we will always be able to buy those.  It’s the semi-automatics that they are going to outlaw like the AK-40s [sic].

This made me very scared.  This is exactly the type of nievety that has allowed gun control to get where it is today.  I didn’t want to force the truth on him right there that night but a trip to the range with him will be in the near future.

I’ll keep you posted…

I wouldn’t hold them 100% accountable for this. They are just using the common terminology used in the media today. The antis have done an excellent job of propogating the use of the “gun-show loophole” in the media.
